MN Covenant for Educational Equity with Excellence

The intent of the
Minnesota Covenant for Educational Equity with Excellence [MCEEE] is to help drive a greater sense of urgency to finally eliminate race disparities in education in Minnesota. Success will ultimately depend on shifting the psychological climate from one where disparities are accepted to one in which Minnesotans commit themselves to clearly creating a set of expectations based on equality.

Read the Covenant

“…it is nonetheless appropriate, given the continuing loss of human academic potential in communities, to insist that Minnesota move more forcefully, quickly, and effectively forward in designing and implementing an educational system that accelerates large scale success…”

Sign the Covenant Individually

To achieve academic excellence in Minnesota it is necessary to build a multiracial, multicultural collaborative of community leaders, parents, students, advocates, policymakers, and educators committed to holding government and powerful institutions accountable for ending racial disparities in educational outcomes in Minnesota. Endorse the Covenant Organizationally

The community-at-large has a stake in the academic success of all students. Racial disparities in educational outcomes between white and nonwhite students do not serve the public good. The status quo just won’t do any longer. Your organization can join Covenant signatories like these: Association of Metropolitan School Districts [AMSD], Brooklyn Center Schools #286, and Eden Prairie Schools.
