One graduate's journey from Sudan to Gates Scholarship

The touching story of Nidal Kram, a Sudanese refugee, who will attend college thanks to a Gates Millenium Scholarship provided by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Summer 2008: Parent Power Literacy & Advocacy Workshops convened by the Network for the Development of Children of African Descent (NdCAD). This summer, NdCAD will be hosting a three-part discussion to help parnets help children improve in and learn to love reading. The discussions will be held in north Minneapolis, St. Paul, and the northend of St. Paul. 8/9: 14th Annual Latino Resource Fair to be held at the Midtown Farmer's Market from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Educational, health, and community resources for Latino families. This event is free and open to the public. For more information contact La Oportunidad at 612-872-6165.
8/13-14: : Summer Anti-Racism Institute to be held at the Blake School in Minneapolis, Minn. Join a diverse group of people for experiences and discussions about race that are unique and often life changing. The Institute runs from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and tuition is $175.
